Jewish and civic community leaders, donors and special guests gathered September 22 for a formal dedication ceremony to celebrate the transformational $18 million renovation and expansion of the Mandel Jewish Community Center of Cleveland. Mort Mandel along with his brothers Joseph Mandel and the late Jack Mandel donated $16 million toward the renovation.

After another wonderful summer, the kids from Camp Wise and the SITs, fresh from their Israel adventure, returned to Beachwood this morning. Parents, friends, family members and pets anxiously waited to greet their loved ones with hugs, smiles and even tears!

Kenny Crumpton hosted "Swimming 101" at The J's outdoor pool on July 26. He interviewed Fitness Wellness and Recreation Director Lorri Slesh about swimming safety and the camera crew shot Aquatics Director Lyle Reed giving swimming lessons.

Sunday, November 14th welcomed a parade of pajamas! Kids of all ages were entertained with morning stretches, breakfast, Flowers the Clown and his balloon making magic show, arts and crafts and story telling too! Even The Cat in the Hat and Franklin the Turtle made an appearance! Thanks so much for all who came out to play!

The Mandel JCC "More to Explore" class, led by teachers Kathy Klein and Annie Cernoia sewed 30 hats for donation to Operation Warm Up, helping Cleveland's Homeless population stay warm. The class of 4 & 5 year olds personally delivered the hats today to the drop off box at the Jewish Federation. Anisfield Day Camp and PJ Library hosted the annual Family Fun Day July 10 at the.e Burton campsite. It was a hot and happy day full of swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, archery, s'mores and more. We had a blast -- thanks to all who attended!
Shoppers had their pick of fresh, organic, locally-grown vegetables at the July 19 farm fresh vegetable stand at The J. See you at the next one at the Mandel JCC’s shelter, next to the outdoor pool. August 16 from 5 - 7 pm. Eat well and help support JFSA YouthAbility and CleveLand Crops, a project of the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Produce is locally-grown, organic and sold within hours of picking.
