Learn to Swim
Parent & Child Infant Swim
Swimmers will learn how to combine arm and leg movements for front and back crawl and will learn how to progress forward at least half a length of the pool without help. Before beginning this level, swimmers must understand basic water safety skills, should be comfortable bobbing in the water independently, and floating on their front and back without equipment or assistance. Children must also be familiar with arm and hand movements for treading water.
Swimmers will learn the basics of all swim strokes including elementary backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Before beginning this level, swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool and tread water for one minute.
Swimmers will refine their skills in all strokes including elementary backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, and will learn flip turns. Before beginning level 4, swimmers must have a basic knowledge of all swim strokes, must have mastered picking up items on the bottom of the deep end and must be able to tread water for one minute after swimming one lap of front and back crawl.
Swim Team Training
For children who want to make a school or community swim team. Class is designed to enhance the skills needed to swim competitively.
Adult Learn to Swim
Just for adults! All levels are welcome!
The Mandel Jewish Community Center's Beachwood Fitness Center is centrally located in Northeast Ohio, only minutes from I-271 and Chagrin Boulevard in Beachwood, Ohio. It is convenient to the following Cleveland suburbs: Shaker Heights, Pepper Pike, Cleveland Heights, University Heights, South Euclid, Lyndhurst and Solon.
