There is nothing like the energy of summer camp. And there is no better place to experience the excitement, wonder and delight that summer camp offers than at Playland Day Camp!

Nestled at the beautiful new Mandel JCC Beachwood Campus, Playland Camp is designed for our youngest campers. Children enjoy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities while learning new skills, working cooperatively with others and engaging in creative outdoor play. Our highly-trained and caring staff along with our low staff-to-camper ratio ensures individual attention, maximum participation and success for each camper. Best of all, each day at camp is filled with summer magic and fun!

PLAYLAND FOR 2s
(Children must turn 2 by September 30, 2012 and be accompanied by an adult)
June 18th – July 24th (6 weeks)
Mondays & Tuesdays (9:30 am -11:00 am)

Playland for 2s is the perfect adult/child camp experience. Designed for the very youngest camper this sensory-rich program offers children a wealth of hands-on learning in a fun, engaging environment. Facilitated by our early enrichment specialist, Teacher Debbie Friedman, adults and children alike benefit from her creativity, knowledge and ability to engage young children

  • Story time and snack

A Day for 2-year olds at Playland:

9:30-9:45 Greetings and discovery
9:45-10:00 Songs and stories
10:00-10:35 Indoor/outdoor activities and art
10:30-10:45 Snack and songs
10:45-11:00 Fingerplays and closing circle

PLAYLAND FOR 3s
(Children must turn 3 by September 30, 2012)
June 18th – July 27th (6 weeks) • 9 am - 12:30 pm
• 5 days - Monday – Friday
• 3 days - Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

Extended care available:

  • 7:30 am - 9:00 am (Early Morning Care)
  • 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm  (Afternoon Care)
  • 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm (Extended Afternoon Care)

Children flourish in a camp environment that is specifically designed to meet their needs and is under the care and direction of both trained and experienced educators. Fun and adventure anchor each weekly camp theme while providing children with new, novel, and familiar experiences. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces support the camp curriculum and enable children to learn new skills, engage in new discoveries and enjoy the camaraderie of other children.

  • Regular use of the outdoor Sprayground
  • Daily carpool drop-off (afternoon pick-up is in the classroom)
  • Daily songs and cheers at the morning flag pole
  • Art projects and activities
  • Nature lore and exploration with a nature specialist
  • Skill development and outdoor activities with a sports specialist
  • Singing and dancing with a music specialist
  • Bi-Weekly Kosher cookout
  • Weekly Shabbat celebration
  • A summer family program
  • Weekly entertainers such as The Bubble Lady and Jungle Terry

A Day at Camp - 3 year-olds

9:00-9:15 Carpool drop-off with songs and cheers at the flagpole
9:15-10:00 Indoor/outdoor exploration (work with specialist)
10:15-10:30  Snack
10:30-11:00  Sprayground 
11:00 11:45 Indoor/outdoor theme related project 
11:45-12:15  Lunch 
12:15-12:30 Story and dismissal

PLAYLAND FOR 4s
(Children must be 4 by September 30, 2012)

 Extended care available:

  • 7:30 am - 9:00 am (Early Morning Care)
  • 2:00 pm -4:00 pm (Afternoon Care)
  • 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm (Extended Afternoon Care)

Playland offers children a “real” camp experience in the comfort of the Mandel JCC’s fully-equipped Early Childhood facility. Early Childhood teachers along with college-aged assistants make this longer camp day a healthy and rewarding experience for our Pre-K campers. Children enjoy participating in new activities, making new friends and experiencing the best summer camp has to offer all within a safe, caring environment.

Program Options:

  • Indoor instructional swim Monday – Thursday
  • Outdoor recreational swim every Friday
  • Regular use of the outdoor Sprayground
  • Daily carpool drop-off and pick-up
  • Daily songs and cheers at the morning flag pool
  • Art projects and activities

Post Camp: July 30 - August 17

We offer pre- and post-camp options, perfect for working parents who want their children to have an all-inclusive, rich and dynamic summer experience. Our program offers more than just quality caregiving. Your 3 and 4 year olds will have the opportunity to participate in water activities, arts & crafts, sports, story time and more all in the comfort of our fully-refurbished Early Childhood classrooms and in the Mandel JCC’s new facilities.
