As SITs, selected teens are given the tools to become future leaders, role models, and J-Day Camp staff. SITs learn leadership skills and become confident role models to excel as a valued J-Day Camps staff member. Participants will work closely with a supervisor as well as other SITs as they learn what it takes to be a full-fledged camp staff member.
Professionalism in a workplace SITs will Learn:
During the week SITs will spend time as a group furthering their leadership skills while developing a rapport with campers and staff. The SIT program is truly a hands-on learning experience as participants go through several “placements,” or rotations, giving them a taste of life as a counselor. Upon completion, SITs receive a certificate of community service hours and a stipend of $225 per session. SITs will also enjoy a field trip during each four-week session!
All SIT candidates must fill out an additional application (which will be emailed after registration) and candidates will go through a pre-camp interview process. SITs can work one or both sessions. Each SIT will receive a T-shirt and enjoy a field trip per session.
