YOGA STUDIO UPDATE

Thank you for your compliments and comments about our new Rzepka Fitness Studios. With the opening of the Yoga Studio, we’re experiencing some issues, which we’re working to quickly resolve. Here is an update on the Yoga Studio:

Resolved issues

  • Lighting – New blinds on the lower-level windows have been installed!
  • Lighting fixtures have been cleaned!
  • The squeak in the Yoga studios has been found, fixed and disappeared!

Open issues

  • Heat – An engineer has determined there is a malfunction with the new heating system and we’re working to resolve it.
  • Sound – We are working with a sound consultant on sound attenuation to resolve the acoustics issues in the Yoga studio.

Stonehill Entrance temporarily CLOSED through spring

Our exciting renovation now moves to the Stonehill Wing. Work has begun and is scheduled to be complete in Spring, 2012. As a result, the Stonehill entrance will be closed during this time. Click here to see photos from the Stonehill renovation - Updated Dec. 14, 2011.

Renovation of the Simon and Rose Mandel Community Room, Treuhaft Conference Center and Stonehill Auditorium

New features will include:
• Remodeled conference rooms with new flooring, wall treatment, ceilings, fixtures and furniture
• Stonehill Auditorium will get also get a face lift with new flooring, ceilings and paint
• Newly renovated/relocated restrooms

During this time:

• Stonehill parking lot will remain OPEN
• During this time please use the main entrance to The J
• Early Childhood entrance will remain OPEN

Parking Lot Repaving Update
The parking lot is NOW OPEN. The main entrance to Preston's HOPE is also open. Thanks for your patience!

Pool Lighting Update
As many of you know, the new lighting system in the pool did not meet our expectations. The electrical lighting contractor will be making adjustments to improve the lighting. This work will take place after-hours when The J is closed, and we do not anticipate having to close the pool for this work.  Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

 NEW Yoga & Pilates studios NOW OPEN!

All Yoga & Pilates classes are now taking place in the new Rzepka Fitness Studios for Yoga & Pilates. Click here for details.

Our brand new Rzepka Fitness Studios are the perfect tranquil places to stretch, tone and unwind in one of our outstanding classes. The new studios will allow us to expand our Yoga and Pilates offerings to include private & small group Yoga & Pilates training.

Upgrades include:

  • 1,500 square-feet of space dedicated to yoga and 800 square-feet dedicated to pilates as well as an upper-level 850 square-foot multipurpose room
  • Beautifully-refinished wooden floors in the Yoga studio and new carpeting in the Pilates studio
  • Adjustable thermostats in each room. While we won’t be offering hot yoga, room temperatures will be adjustable for comfort
  • New sound systems in each studio and more!

Our administrative offices, located off the membership desk, have also gotten a facelift. Upgrades include new flooring, ceilings and lighting along with modular pods to encourage collaboration and communication.
