Renovation Schedule - September, 2009

Phase 1

Our Locker Rooms Are Getting All Dressed Up For You!

Beautiful New Women's Locker Room and Club J Locker Room
Beautiful New Women's Locker Rooms are OPEN.
In the new locker rooms members have access to sauna and steam rooms (whirlpools are located on the pool deck). Club J Locker Rooms, for adults 1 and older, offer complimentary towel service, a well appointed lounge with TV, daily use lockers, rental lockers, complimentary snacks and much more. Manicure and pedicure services are be available in a temporary location in the Women's Locker Room. Women's massage services will resume in March, 2010.

Handsome New Men's Locker Room and Club J Locker Room
Projected completion: February, 2010
The demolition of the Men's Locker Room has started. During this time, all men are occupying the former Women's Club J Locker Rooms. The newly renovated men's showers, sinks and rest room facilities are in service. Steam, sauna, and massages is not available. The Men's Locker Room and the Men's Club J Locker Room will both open in February. The Club J Locker Room, for adults 18 and older, will offer complimentary towel service, a well appointed lounge with TV, daily use lockers, rental lockers, complimentary snacks and much more. Please note: Families with children 12 and under will be required to use the Family Locker Rooms when they open in February.Men's Locker Rooms - Spacious Steam, Sauna and Massage Rooms

Projected completion: April, 2010
In the new locker rooms members will have access to sauna and steam rooms along with whirlpools which will be located on the pool deck. Massage services will resume in March.

Family Locker Room
Projected completion: February, 2010
The Family Locker Room, which is fully handicapped accessible, will feature five private changing rooms with sinks and showers. Daily-use lockers will also be available. These locker rooms are for families with children 12 and under and for individuals with disabilities.

Manicure and Pedicure Salon (Co-ed)
Projected completion: April, 2010
Manicure and pedicure services, conveniently located by the Men's and Women's Locker Rooms, will be available for both men and women for an additional fee.

Parking Lot Enhancements
Resurfaced Parking Lot
Projected completion: Spring, 2010
We will be resurfacing and restriping the parking lot and improving the lighting to increase visibility and enhance security for all visitors. We will also be regrading some of the uneven areas in the parking lot and creating new convenient paths to the building.

Improved Parking Lot Lighting
Projected completion: Winter, 2010
We will be improving the lighting in the parking lot by replacing the light fixtures.

Renovated Indoor Pool
The indoor pool received a major face lift.
Completed:  October, 2009
The indoor pool features a new pool lining, gutters, decking and floor tile. Access into the pool will now be exclusively through the Men, Women's and Family Locker Rooms.

2 Whirlpools located on the Pool Deck are OPEN
Two large whirlpools will open on the pool deck a week or two after the indoor pool reopens. They will be directly accessible from the Men's, Women's and Family Locker Rooms.

New Stairway will open to a new Lower Level Fitness Welcome Desk

New Stairway
Projected completion: December, 2009
The new stairway will help create easier access to the fitness level for members and guests.

New Welcome Desk
Projected completion: Fall, 2010
The installation of the new stairway and welcome desk will alleviate congestion that now occurs as members enter and exit the fitness area.

Phase 2

Focus on Fitness
Expanded New State-of-the-Art Fitness Center with a Dramatic Two-Story Wall of Windows.

Fitness Center Addition
Projected completion: July, 2010
Starting in October, 2009, work on the Fitness Center addition will begin. In the short term, we will lose some space in the Fitness Center to accommodate the gymnasium expansion and at the same time we will be reclaiming some space from the Cleveland Clinic Rehab Facility. Some of the equipment in the Fitness Center will be shifted and some of the equipment will be relocated to the Rzekpa Youth Fitness Center. The Advanced Training Center with its strength training equipment will be fully operational.

Existing Fitness Center renovation
Projected completion: October, 2010
While members move into and enjoy the new Fitness Center addition, we will be renovating the existing Fitness Center space. That work is anticipated to take 3 months. When completed the old and the new Fitness Centers will be joined into one beautiful new state-of-the-art Fitness
Center.

Pilates Studio
Pilates reformer classes have moved to the Small Stonehill room on the upper level located near Stonehill Auditorium.

Upcoming Highlights

Fitness projects projected to be completed during Spring and Summer, 2010:

  • Outdoor Tennis Courts Resurfacing
  • Outdoor Basketball Court Resurfacing
  • Outdoor Pool - The outdoor pool and surrounding areas will get a major face lift. Later this fall, the outdoor pool and pool house will be updated and a spray ground for young children will be created in place of the current baby pool. This work is scheduled to be completed by Memorial Day, 2010.
  • Gymnasium expansion - The number of basketball courts will double from 2 to 4 and the number of basketball hoops will increase from 6 to 12. 
  • Expanded indoor running track will be easily accessible to the new Fitness Center. The expanded track will be approximately 10% longer and will lead to a mezzanine overlooking and accessible to the Fitness Center via stairs.
  • Renovated group exercise studios. The large studio and cycling studio will be refurbished. 
  • Two racquetball courts will be refurbished.

Fall 2010

 

Phase 3

A Welcome Face Lift throughout Much of the Building

We will complete our exciting $15 million renovation with these finishing touches, many of which will be completed during Phase I and Phase II:

  • Welcoming entry and reception area with informal gathering spaces
  • Beautifully updated meeting spaces
  • Updated children's and family activity space
  • Wi-Fi in many areas throughout the building
