We offer swim lessons to children starting at ages 6 months. There is no upper age limit. Many preteens and teens get a strong workout in the advanced classes.
Can I request a specific time for swim lessons?
Our scheduling priority is to closely match swimmers' abilities and developmental progress to maximize their learning experience. This is why swim lessons are set up by levels, not times. We do offer several time slots for each level to help you fit your swim lessons into your busy schedules.

What are The Mandel JCC's guidelines regarding pool safety?
The Mandel JCC places pool safety among our highest priorities. We are taking several steps to provide a safe pool environment for our members:
- We hire only experienced/certified lifeguards who stay current on their certifications. We will also provide mandatory periodic testing and in-service training sessions for lifeguards.
- JCC lifeguards will always wear hip packs containing basic emergency equipment.
- Children under the age of 6 who can not pass the swim test will be required to be within arm's length of a guardian over the age of 16.
- JCC Day Campers will be swim tested and those who are strong swimmers will be given allow access to the deep end of the pool. All other children will stay in the shallow end of the pool.
- Lifeguards are under a "no tolerance" policy. Guards who do not precisely follow the JCC aquatic staff manual guidelines will be terminated immediately.
