Joining the ranks of Unbroken and Band of Brothers, this book is the little-known saga about young German Jews, dubbed The Ritchie Boys. They fled Nazi Germany in the 1930’s, came of age in America, and returned to Europe at enormous personal risk to fight as members of the U.S. Army and to play a key role in the Allied victory.
The Ritchie Boys were sent in small, elite teams to join every major combat unit in Europe, where they interrogated German POWs and gathered crucial intelligence that saved American lives and helped win the war. A postwar Army report found that more than sixty percent of the credible intelligence gathered in Europe came from The Ritchie Boys.
Bruce Henderson is the author or co- author of more than twenty non- fiction books. He is an award winning journalist and writer. Henderson has taught writing and reporting at USC School of Journalism and at Stanford University.
