For the past 15 years, the Israeli town of Sderot, on the edge of the Negev, has been bombarded with rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. Despite the daily trauma of air raid sirens, missile explosions and regular runs to bomb shelters, the people of Sderot have managed to thrive as the epicenter of a music revolution. In a bomb shelter turned rock club, a community of young artists—mainly of Moroccan, Kurdish and Persian descent—has found an artistic outlet for their anger and hope.
