A Blind Hero: The Love of Otto Weidt
Sunday, September 18 • 2 pm • Parma-Snow Branch Library • Free

Director: Kai Christiansen • Germany • 2015 • German • 90 minutes

The owner of a brush and broom factory in Berlin, Otto uses his skills as a shrewd conman to outsmart the Nazis and protect his staff, most of whom are Jewish and blind. But in 1943, when he is forced to find places for employees to go underground, not all are able to escape––including his former secretary, Alice. When she is deported to Auschwitz, Otto, nearly blind himself, sets off to persuade the Nazis to free her and her family.
