Preschool Plus

Preschool Plus is not only designed to meet your preschool child's needs, it's designed to meet your working needs too!

  • You can choose to use the program once a week or for the entire school week, (Parents are encouraged to maintain a consistent schedule throughout the year.)
  • Operating hours are 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday (5:30 p.m. on Fridays)
  • Early Morning Care is offered 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
    • This program precedes morning preschool; breakfast is served daily to children who arrive at school before 8:15 a.m.
  • Preschool Plus operates during holidays when the traditional academic program is closed. Some of these include:
    • Martin Luther King Day,
    • Presidents Day,
    • Winter vacation, (with the exception of Dec. 24th - 25th and Jan. 1st)
    • Spring vacation, (with the exception of days when the building is closed in observance of Passover.)
  • Preschool Plus closes during the last week in August as well as for certain Jewish and secular holidays, (This includes a day for parent/teacher conferences and a day of staff professional development.) A detailed calendar is provided at the beginning of the school year so parents can plan ahead.
  • Preschool School operates during the transitional weeks between summer camp and preschool.

Preschool Plus is more than just quality care giving, it offers children an extended day filled with rich, meaningful learning.

  • All Preschool Plus children attend morning preschool, 9:00 a.m.12:30p.m. (Children pack lunch from home and eat it in their morning preschool classroom.)
  • Fulltime children remain at school for an afternoon filled with new and enriched learning opportunities; art, science, literacy and outdoor play are just a few!
  • All children in Preschool Plus have a designated rest time. (The school provides a cot for each child to use; children bring their own bedding to school which is sent home each Friday to get laundered.)

Preschool Plus creates new social possibilities for children and provides them with ongoing opportunities to interact with both a new and familiar peer group.

  • Three year olds from two different classes come together as a new group of afternoon learners
  • Four year olds from two different classes come together as a new group of afternoon learners. (All four years olds enrolled in Preschool Plus are automatically a part of the More-to-Explore program.)

Caring, qualified teachers are at the heart of our Preschool Plus Program.

  • A highly talented team of Preschool Plus teachers facilitate the afternoon program.
  • Teachers are hired specifically for this afternoon position so they are fresh, energized and ready to meet the social, emotional and learning needs of children who are attending a full day program.
