3 Year Old Program

(Child must turn 3 by September 30th and have achieved "potty mastery")

Three year olds are full of wonder and spend a lot of time watching, observing and imitating others. They fill their days with busy exploration of their world around them.

Program Options

  • Monday - Friday 9:00-12:30
  • Wednesday-Thursday- Friday 9:00-12:30 (Three day a week and five day a week children are part of the same classroom community)

Program Features

  • A music specialist works with all children one morning a week
  • Children have instructional P.E. in our full size gym. (Once a week for 3 day children; twice a week for 5 day children.)
  • All children participate in instructional swim once a week for six consecutive weeks
  • Children participate in a weekly school-wide Shabbat celebration every Friday morning.
  • Each child works in a journal that remains in the classroom throughout the duration of the school year; journals provide a formal structure whereby children are encouraged to express and record their ideas and experiences.

Daily Schedules
The children’s daily schedule is flexible enough to provide adaptability when necessary but structured enough to provide predictability for the children. We want them to view their school as a safe and comforting place, where they know what to expect and when to expect it. A typical preschool day would include:

9:00 am • Greeting and Discovery time (includes art activities and open enters for choice time)
9:45 am • Circle time (discussion of day, song and finger-plays, calendar)
10:15 am • Special Activity time (Dalcroze, Music, Gym) with Specialist
10:45 am • Hand washing/snack
11:00 am • Discovery time (work in centers and on current classroom unit)
11:20 am • Goodbye circle
11:30 am • Dismissal
