Guidelines

Dorothy Silver Playwriting Competition

• Plays submitted must be the original work of the playwright (adaptations and translations are not eligible)
• The play content must include a fresh perspective on the Jewish experience
• The works must be full-length, previously unpublished and never fully produced (plays that have been developed in readings or workshops are admissible)
• No FAX or email entries will be accepted
• Postmark deadline: December 31 annually

PRIZE

• $1,000 honorarium (to be used toward travel)
• Staged reading of winning play by the Mandel Jewish Community Center. Winning playwright is strongly encouraged to attend:
  
• Advertisement announcing winner in American Theatre Magazine
